Hogwarts Legacy players can use the Wingardium Leviosa spell without actually having it equipped, saving a precious spell slot while out completing quests and exploring the game's massive world. Hogwarts Legacy has over 20 spells that players can learn and equip for use in combat, exploration, and puzzle solving, but they can only have four readily available to them at any given time.

It's true that Hogwarts Legacy technically lets players have 16 spells equipped at once, but even then they can only have immediate access to four of them. Many dungeons in the game require players to utilize multiple spells to get through them, and then there's the dueling challenges to take into account, with players asked to use specific spells to take out enemies in exchange for rewards. Players can hop into a menu and swap out their spells whenever they want, but this can be inconvenient and break up the action, so fans may be relieved to know they don't have to waste a slot on Wingardium Leviosa.

Wingardium Leviosa is a spell that lets Hogwarts Legacy players move objects around with their magic, functioning as a combination of the Lucio and Accio spells. Hogwarts Legacy players obtain Wingardium Leviosa through natural quest progression, but once they have it, they never actually have to equip it. Instead, players can simply pull an object to them with Accio, and if they move close enough to that object, their character will then automatically cast the Wingardium Leviosa spell.

This way, Hogwarts Legacy players can just have Accio equipped instead of Wingardium Leviosa, which is great because Accio is far more useful overall. Accio is one of the first spells players learn in Hogwarts Legacy, and it has far more uses than Wingardium Leviosa. It can be used to break through enemy shields, not to mention bring opponents close for devastating close-range attacks. It's used in many puzzles throughout Hogwarts Legacy, as players have to pull certain objects to them to bypass obstacles. The fact that it can also function as Wingardium Leviosa is a big plus, though players should keep in mind that this trick only works once they have actually unlocked the Wingardium Leviosa spell.

Allowing players to cast Wingardium Leviosa without actually having the spell equipped is a great quality-of-life feature in Hogwarts Legacy, giving players the chance to save their precious spell slots for more useful incantations.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Nintendo Switch port dropping on July 25.
