In the opening mission of Hogwarts Legacy, players will follow a mostly linear path with Professor Fig. Once Fig and the player end up in Gringotts' Vault 12, one of the oldest in the Wizarding World bank, Fig will teach players how to use a spell called Revelio, which, when used, will reveal any hidden objects. Shortly after, players will also learn how to light up their wand with the Lumos spell, which can be done by holding R2 and pressing the triangle button (PS4/PS5).

A brief tutorial with a knight statue will force players to use Lumos to line up the statue with its reflection. A battle will commence once it's done, and after the fight is over, Fig will disappear, and players are left with three knight statues that need to be activated. Here's how to activate the statues in Hogwarts Legacy.

Approaching each statue and using Lumos will cause the knights to push their swords into the floor, but if players walk away, the statues will return to their original position. However, if players look at the lines that are shooting out of the three statues, they can use those to activate them.

The key here is to walk to the spot (or sprint) to the point where all three statue lines intersect. Stand on the point and then cast Lumos. The knights will react to the light, and each one should activate as long as the player remains still and doesn't leave the spot.

Once the statues are all activated, Hogwarts Legacy players will need to take down the three Guardians by themselves by shooting them with Basic magic. More will appear after the first three have been defeated.

Keep tapping R2 (PS5, PS5) to damage the enemies, making sure to press Triangle to guard against attacks. By holding Triangle after a block, witches and wizards can cast Stupefy to stun an enemy, which will cause them to take more damage. Players can also dodge roll by pressing the Circle button.

Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are in development.
