Upon completing the first trial in Hogwarts Legacy, players are introduced to the next Keeper, Charles Rookwood. Once it’s revealed that his descendant is working with Ranrok to endanger the wizarding world, Charles insists on completing the second trial as soon as possible.

Players must sneak inside Rookwood Castle in Hogwarts Legacy and search for Charles Rookwood’s painting to begin the trial. This task won’t be easy, as the castle is infested with Goblins and Loyalists that’ll cause heavy damage.

How To Enter Rookwood Castle In Hogwarts Legacy

To enter Rookwood Castle, which is located in Feldcroft Region, players must first defeat the enemies and then use Revelio to search for a box. Use Wingardium Leviosa to drag the box underneath the broken wall and cast Levioso to levitate it. Jump onto it to gain access to the castle’s grounds.

Once players get inside Rookwood Castle, Professor Fig helps defeat the enemies. After that, enter the castle to search for the portrait, which is hidden behind a sealed gate. To solve the small puzzle and open the gate, find three sigils on the wall and hit them at the same time.

All Charles Rookwood Trials In Hogwarts Legacy

The student has to solve four major parts to complete Charles Rookwood's trial.

Part 1

The first part is relatively easier than the rest.

• First, climb the stairs to the right and Investigate the traces of Ancient Magic to activate the portal and spawn the cube.
• After that, head down and ignore the tall pillar.
• Use Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to drag the cube under the platform.
• Cast the Levioso spell on the cube.
• Climb it to reach the second part of the trial.

Alternatively, it’s also possible to solve the puzzle by using both the pillar and the cube:

• Go through the portal to the blue side, which transforms the pillar into a second cube.
• Drag it through the portal (to the red side) and stack the two cubes on top of each other to climb them.

Part 2

Cross the bridge and Investigate the pool of Ancient Magic to start the second part of the trial in Hogwarts Legacy. The goal is to remove the pillar blocking the way.

• Stand in front of the portal and hit the sigil on the right side to rotate it. This will transform the unmovable pillar into a cube.
• Use Accio to pull the cube through the gate.
• Go around the portal and proceed to the third part of the trial.

Part 3

The third puzzle is rather easy and is completed in simple steps. Players need to find a way to the left path to proceed forward.

• Investigate the Ancient Magic pool.
• Hit the sigil through the portal to make it turn to the right path.
• Go through it to enter the blue side.
• Turn around and hit the sigil again.
• Proceed forward to the left path.

Part 4

The final part of this trial is a bit tricky to complete as protagonists need to use one of the two portals to fight an invisible enemy and reach the other side.

• Activate the trial by Investigating the Ancient Magic pool.
• Go left and defeat the Pensieve Protector.

• Enter the portal to the blue side to defeat the other Pensieve protector.
• Hit the sigil on the right to rotate the portals.
• Climb the stairs to see a cube instead of the pillar.
• Use Levioso to levitate it.

• Jump on it and climb to the higher portal.
• Hit the sigil again to rotate the platform.
• Jump to the other side.

The next room contains a couple of enemies. Players will also collect many health potions along the way before fighting the Pensieve Guardian.
