Side quests are an inevitable task in a game like Hogwarts Legacy. The missions are designed to help players raise their XP to help them level up faster. These side quests are usually assigned by students, professors, or random Wizards or Witches players may come across while playing Hogwarts Legacy.
The Mer-ky Depths quest is one of those quests. It is assigned by Nerida Roberts, a Slytherin student, who wants to claim her gift. Sadly, the gift is located in a Leaky Cave underwater and the student doesn’t know how to swim. This quest rewards players with 180 XP, which will help raise their level in Hogwarts Legacy.
Mer-ky Depths Quest Guide In Hogwarts Legacy
To complete the Mer-ky Depths quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players must acquire the Mermish Artefact. Upon arriving at the Boathouse, players will find Nerida Roberts sitting on the water’s edge. Striking a conversation with the Slytherin student will trigger the Mer-ky Depths quest. The mission is all about tracking the gift the Merpeople left for Nerida Roberts at the Leaky Cave in Hogwarts Legacy.
To get the Mermish Artefact, players should:
- Swim to the marked location near the Boathouse.
- Dive into the Leaky Cave.
Inside the Cave, players will need to locate three Moths to open the locked door in Hogwarts Legacy. The Moths are in plain sight, but might need a little help to get to their destined location. To do so:
- Cast Incendio or any Fire Spell to burn the webs that block the path of two Moths.
- Use the Lumos Spell to guide the three Moths to the locked door.
The Moths can’t be guided at the same time, so players need to follow one Moth at a time.
Opening the door will reveal a chest that has a Mermish Artefact. Players have the freedom of keeping the item or returning it to Nerida Roberts. Giving it back will make the Slytherin student giddy and excited while keeping it can leave her rather angry with players and herself. However, whatever choice players make, they will be rewarded with an Appearance item in Hogwarts Legacy.
The Mermish Artefact is required by Nerida Roberts to demonstrate her sincerity in improving the relationship between Wizardkind and Merpeople. She aspires to know everything about them, and she wants to teach them everything they desire to know about Wizardkind. Nerida believes if both sides understand each other better, both of their society can blossom together.
Nerida Roberts
Nerida Roberts is a Slytherin student who insists on building a liaison office in the ministry for the Merpeople. She feels that if the Goblins and Centaurs have liaison offices at the ministry, then the Merpeople should have one too. The Merpeople are looked down upon by the Wizardkind even though their communities are similar.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are currently in development.
