Hogwarts Legacy features a wonderful cast of original characters, most of whom feel right at home in the wizarding world. One of these new characters is Sirona Ryan, who serves as the proprietress of the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. Sirona plays a minor role in the main story of the game and also gives players a unique side quest called "A Friend in Deed."
"A Friend in Deed" becomes available after players have uncovered the Helm of Urtkot for Lodgok, attended Beasts class for the first time, and started the Demiguise statue quest for Gladwin Moon. Once all three tasks have been taken care of, Sirona will contact Hogwarts Legacy players by owl mail and ask them to come and speak with her at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade.
How to Complete the A Friend in Deed Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy
Sirona will ask players to go and check in on her friend Dorothy Sprottle, who can be found in the Upper Hogsfield region north of Hogsmeade. If players have already been there then they'll be able to use Floo Flames to fast travel back there in an instant. If not, they should hop on their broomstick and make their way to the location marked on their map. Dorothy will ask them to track down some Horklumps for potion-making as well as some of Sirona's old letters; both of which can be found in a nearby cave.
It's possible that players will already have a healthy supply of Horklumps at this point in the game, in which case they will automatically hand some over before leaving. If not, there are plenty of them in the cave, so it's not really a big deal. Other than grabbing Horklumps and opening up the occasional small chest, there's not much to do inside the cave anyway, so players should just follow the quest marker and make their way down into the cave's depths, destroying any vines or debris that blocks their way forward.
Eventually, players will slide down a slope, at the bottom of which is an angry Mountain Troll. Tackling the brute is just like killing any other Troll in Hogwarts Legacy. Players should dodge roll to avoid its two unblockable attacks and aim to fling its boulders back at it by blocking them with Protego and then holding the R1/RB button when prompted. Players should also use R1/RB to fling all of the boulders around the outside of the battle area at the Troll and use Ancient Magic if needed.
After toppling the Troll, players should continue onward until they come to a narrow passageway. Here, they'll find all five of Sirona's letters as well as Sirona's letter box. If they didn't do so earlier, they should give Dorothy some Horklumps and then make their way back to Hogsmeade to speak with Sirona. She'll thank them for their help, at which point, players will receive 180 XP and the Keg Shelf collection item, which can be used to decorate the walls of the Room of Requirement.
