Hogwarts Legacy tells the story of a young-fifth year student during their time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Upon arriving at the magical school, the protagonist will be required to attend various classes in order to progress the story, but they will eventually be given the freedom to explore the world around them.

While exploring the world of Hogwarts Legacy, players will encounter NPCs who offer side quests. The All’s Well That Ends Bell side quest, however, isn’t available at the beginning of the game, so players will need to do some work before they can start it.

The All’s Well That Ends Bell side quest becomes available upon completing In the Shadow of the Mine, Hogwarts Legacy’s thirty-first main quest. Upon completing this main quest, players will need to search Hogwarts to find the quest-giver, a Hufflepuff student named Evangeline Bardsley.

Evangeline can be found by fast-traveling to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower Floo Flame in The Astronomy Wing, walking down the stairs ahead, and turning right. There, Evangeline can be seen leaning on a guardrail overlooking the floor below.

Interacting with Evangeline will prompt her to explain that the Headmaster has taken the bells that once hung in The Bell Tower and hidden them. Hoping to return the bells to their rightful place, she will then ask the protagonist to find them for her.

Where To Find The Missing Bells

Upon choosing to assist Evangeline with finding the bells, the player should fast-travel to the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame in The Bell Tower Wing, travel up the stairs on the left, and proceed through the door. On the other side, they will need to continue traveling up the stairs until they reach the Music Room.

At the back of the Music Room, on the right, is a staircase that leads further up. Following the next few flights will lead the protagonist to where the bells are, but two of them are missing. Casting the Revelio spell will reveal the exact location of the missing bells, so players should be sure to make use of it if they are struggling to find them.

The first bell can be found just at the base of the stairs leading up to the bells, while the second bell is located higher up, just next to the final two stairways. Once they have both been found, the player must cast Wingardium Leviosa on them and guide them back to where all the other bells are hanging. The first bell should be placed in the lower row, and the second should be returned to the one above it.

Once the two bells have been returned to their rightful places, all eight bells will begin ringing, after which the protagonist will suggest it’s time to speak with Evangeline.

With the bells back where they belong, the player should fast-travel to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower Floo Flame and follow the path back to Evangeline, who will thank the protagonist for their help.

When the conversation ends, a prompt will appear marking the completion of the All’s Well That Ends Bell side quest and the player will be rewarded with an Erumpent Horn, a decorative item that can be placed in the Room of Requirement.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4, and a Switch version will release on July 25.
