Players may not get to enjoy the thrill of playing Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy, but they can at least get a taste of the next best thing. They'll unlock the ability to fly on a broomstick after completing Madam Kogawa's Flying class during the game's sixth act. This not only allows them to get around the game's massive open world a lot faster but also grants access to a few new flying-related side quests.

The first of these is called "Flight Test" and becomes available after players have purchased their first broomstick. Those who complete it will then unlock a new side quest called "Sweeping the Competition," assuming, though only after they've completed Percival Rackham's trial. Like the last one, completing this side quest requires players to beat Imelda Reyes' time in a challenging flying course.

How to Beat Imelda's Time in Sweeping the Competition

To begin the "Sweeping the Competition" side quest, players will need to return to Sprintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade and purchase a Broom Upgrade from Albie. Doing so will set players back a cool 1,000 Galleons, so some may need to sell some of their unwanted gear in order to be able to afford it. Thankfully, Albie will buy players' Gear despite not stocking it in his store.

Upon purchasing the upgrade, Albie will ask players to test it out by beating Imelda Reyes' time in the South Broom Trial. The trial in question can be found just north of a town called Irondale, which is where players can find the "E-Vase-Ive Manoeuvre" side quest. If they've never been to Irondale before and thus are unable to fast travel there, players can instead reach the trial by heading due south from Hogwarts.

Like last time, Hogwarts Legacy players will need to speak with Imelda to begin the trial. There are fewer rings to fly through this time, though the course is a little longer, with players needing a time of 2:26:21 or under in order to emerge victorious. Players will also notice that each row of speed-boosters now has four yellow orbs rather than three, allowing them to get a much bigger speed boost between rings if they're able to hit all four.

Just as in the "Flight Test" side quest, players should try to line themselves up with these speed boosters rather than hitting them at an angle, as doing so could send them miles off course and lead to them failing to pass through a ring or two. Thankfully, missing a couple shouldn't be the end of the world, as, despite each miss leading to a three-second penalty, players should have no trouble getting around the course with plenty of time to spare.

Once they've beaten Imelda's time, players should stop and have a quick chat with her before using the Floo Flames network to fast travel back to Hogsmeade. Sadly, although Albie is very grateful for the flight data players have gathered for him, he won't provide them with a reward. Players will still get the usual 180 XP though, and will also hear from Albie again a little later on in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are currently in development.
