Once players trigger In the Shadow of Fate quest in Hogwarts Legacy, an important decision must be made that’ll affect one of the character’s fate. As the Protagonists knows, there are side quests in Hogwarts Legacy which can be considered relationship quest as they help improve the friendship between players and the character that issued the mission.
In the Shadow quest series is related to Sebastian Sallow, a Slytherin student and a close friend of Ominis Gaunt. In the Shadow of Fate is one of the late-game side quests that force players to have a heavy discussion with Ominis in Hogwarts Legacy.
In The Shadow Of Fate Quest Location In Hogwarts Legacy
Upon completing the In the Shadow of Relics quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players will receive an owl inviting them to the Undercroft to discuss what happened in the catacomb. To reach the Undercroft, head to the Defence Against The Dark Arts Tower Floo Flame and follow the marked location.
Once players are inside, a snippet of Ominis and Sebastian’s conversation can be heard. The former is scolding the latter about how Anne had to bury her uncle alone while she’s devastated and is considering turning her brother in. Sebastian on the other hand is trying to defend himself by saying he had to use the Avada Kedavra spell in Hogwarts Legacy on his uncle to save Anne.
By speaking to Sebastian, it’s clear that he’s feeling immense guilt and didn’t mean to kill his uncle. Additionally, he asks players to convince Ominis that he must stay with Anne as she needs her brother. Agreeing or refusing will lead to the same result, speaking with Ominis. Ominis says that Anne is torn on what to do, but the blind boy believes they have no choice but to say goodbye to Sebastian. Here, players must make a heavy decision; turn Sebastian in or not.
Should You Turn Sebastian In?
If players are wondering if they should turn Sebastian in in Hogwarts Legacy, it all comes down to players’ preferences. By choosing to turn him in:
- Sebastian will be expelled from Hogwarts and won’t appear in either the ending or In the Shadow of Friendship quest.
- Sebastian will keep believing Goblins are the ones responsible for his sister’s illness.
- Ominis will take his place In the Shadow of Friendship quest.
- Anne becomes devastated as she becomes truly alone in this world with no family members.
- The Protagonists may never see Sebastian again and won’t get the chance to learn the forbidden spells in Hogwarts Legacy if they haven’t learned them before.
If the Protagonists choose to not turn him in:
- Sebastian will be spared and appears in the epilogue as well as In the Shadow of Friendship quest.
- Players will tell the truth about how the one who cursed Anne is actually Victor Rookwood.
- Anne will forbid any contact with Sebastian.
- Players will get the chance to learn all unforgivable curses in Hogwarts Legacy.
