Hogwarts Legacy marks the beginning of a young fifth-year student's journey in the world of magic. Upon arriving at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, they will be given the chance to explore the castle and meet a variety of interesting people, and some will even provide them with side quests.

Sebastian, Poppy, and Natsai, however, are the only Hogwarts Legacy characters who offer relationship quests. The player will first need to complete a few main quests to gain access to these unique questlines, but not all of them are easy to complete. The Lost Child quest, obtained from Natsai, is arguably one of the most confusing.

How To Begin The Lost Child Side Quest In Hogwarts Legacy

To unlock The Lost Child side quest, the player must first have completed The High Keep. This quest is part of the main quest, so players will unlock it while progressing through the main story. On top of that, they must also have completed the Astronomy Class main quest. Once both of these quests are finished, Natsai will send the protagonist an owl, asking them to aid her in her investigation of Theophilus Harlow.

Johanna Bickle in Hogwarts Legacy

In order to begin The Lost Child, the player must travel to Lower Hogsfield and interact with Natsai just beside the Floo Flame. If Natsai isn't there, the player can choose to wait for her, which will advance time and spawn her. After the conversation, the player will need to speak to Johanna Bickle, who happens to be standing at the other side of the gate.

Johanna will inform the protagonist that her husband was murdered by Harlow and his goons and that she thinks her son, Archie, was taken by them. Once the conversation is over, Natsai and the protagonist can begin tracking Archie down.

Following The Footprints

Finding Archie's Hideout in Hogwarts Legacy

From Lower Hogsfield, the player should follow Natsai down the path leading south. Eventually, they will reach Archie's hideout, but Archie is nowhere to be seen. To see where he went, a quick cast of Revelio will reveal footprints leading away from the hideout and off into the woods.

Revelio only lasts for a short time, however, so players will need to cast it several times while following the footprints if they wish to keep track of them. Even with Revelio highlighting the footprints, it's easy to lose sight of them. If this is the case, the player should pay attention to where Natsai is heading and follow her until they can see the tracks again.

Finding Archie's Satchel in Hogwarts Legacy

After following Archie's trail for a while, a group of Dark Mongrels will launch an attack. Once they have been defeated, the player should cast Revelio again and follow the footprints to the satchel hanging on the nearby tree. After interacting with the satchel, another cast of Revelio will highlight some more footprints leading southwest to the West Hogwarts Valley Floo Flame.

Capturing a Thestral in Hogwarts Legacy

Another Revelio cast will reveal more than one set of footprints leading west along a path littered with Thestrals. If the player wishes, they can take this opportunity to capture some Thestrals with the Nab-Sack, but they should be careful not to drift too far from Natsai, as doing so will fail the quest.

Continuing west, Natsai and the protagonist will be faced with an Ashwinder encampment. If the player wishes, they can use the Disillusionment charm to sneak by all the enemies and enter the tent they're guarding, or they can fight their way in.

Defeating The Ashwinders

Once inside the tent, players will need to explore their surroundings in search of Archie Bickle. Thankfully, the quest marker will highlight the young boy's exact location, but reaching him can be a bit challenging due to the amount of Ashwinders roaming around.

Fighting Catrin Haggarty in Hogwarts Legacy

While staying on the same floor, the player should proceed along the right-hand side of the tent until they see two Ashwinders standing still. This pair can be dealt with quite easily thanks to Petrificus Totalus, but the group in the next round will put up more of a fight. Led by the Infamous Foe, Catrin Haggarty, the Ashwinders here can easily overpower the player if they aren't careful, so it would be wise to petrify a few before beginning the battle.

Thanks to the obstacles scattered throughout this arena, the player will be able to take cover from most projectiles, but they should also be prepared to dodge and parry whenever they need to. Once enough enemies have been bested, a second group will enter the battle, but they go down just as easily as the rest. When all the other Ashwonders have been bested, the player can focus their attacks on Catrin.

Where To Find Archie Bickle

Players will hear Archie shouting for help from the floor below the arena, but they can feel free to investigate the rest of the tent before proceeding onwards if they wish to acquire some new gear and a few Galleons. When they are ready, they can reach the stairs leading down by traveling to the spot directly above the quest marker.

Archie can then be found trapped inside a wooden cage. To free him, Alohomora must be used to unlock the Level 1 Lock imprisoning him. The door to the crate will swing open once the lock has been broken, allowing the protagonist to speak to Archie properly.

How To Complete The Lost Child In Hogwarts Legacy

When the conversation ends, the protagonist and Natsai will be teleported back to Lower Hogsfield, where they can approach Archie and Johanna Bickle outside their home just west of the Floo Flame. After a short conversation, Archie will leave, giving players the option to speak to Johanna alone.

Johanna will then thank the protagonist for rescuing her son before advising them to keep a low profile. Once the exchange ends, a prompt will appear, marking the end of The Lost Child side quest.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4 and a Switch version will release on July 25.
