Giant Purple Toads can be found in dens all over the map, but it might be handier for players to search the dens closest to where they spend the majority of their time. Upon reaching this location, players will be faced with several Giant Purple Toads, but capturing them is easier said than done; most beasts in Hogwarts Legacy tend to flee when approached, so a stealthy approach might be necessary for certain situations. The Disillusionment Charm should be used before sneaking up on a Giant Purple Toad, and then a spell like Arresto Momentum or Levioso should be cast to keep the beast in place.

Capturing a Giant Purple Toad in Hogwarts Legacy

When the player is confident they have enough time to capture a Giant Purple Toad, they should activate the Nab-Sack. If the attempt is successful, they will capture a Giant Purple Toad. Before leaving this area, however, a Giant Purple Toad of a different gender should be captured; this will make it possible to breed the two beasts in the Room of Requirement.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are currently in development.
