Among the many side quests that exist in Hogwarts Legacy, the ones given by Hogwarts Professors have to be a priority as they teach players new spells. Thanks to the protagonists’ circumstances of being new Hogwarts students starting in their 5th year, many Professors agreed that it’s only natural to give extra assignments, so players can catch up to their peers.

While giving assignments in Hogwarts Legacy, the Professors provide two tasks related to their subjects. Professor Sharp, for example, is an Ex-Auror who teaches Potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So naturally, his tasks revolve around potions and players must complete them to learn Diffindo.

To learn the Diffindo spell in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s crucial that players complete Professor Sharp's Assignment 1 quest to trigger the second assignment. After getting the first set of potions, the Ex-Auror tasks players with even more potions to learn Diffindo. The required tasks are:

  • Acquire and use an Invisibility Potion.
  • Acquire and use a Thunderbrew Potion against enemies.

Similar to the previous assignment, there are two methods to acquire the potions; by purchase or brewing.

To buy Invisibility and Thunderbrew potions in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s best to head to J. Pippin’s Potions shop in Hogsmeade which can be found near West Hogsmeade Floo Flame. Pary, the shop owner, offers a variety of brewed potions, potions recipes, and some ingredients.

To speed things up, players can buy the Invisibility potion for 500 Galleons and the Thunderbrew potion for 1,000 Galleons, instead of brewing the concoction themselves. Buying the potions will still complete the task.

Afterward, players need to consume the potion; the Invisibility potion can be used at any time or in battle to do surprise attacks, while the Thunderbrew potion must be used while fighting enemies. Once the tasks are complete, head back to Professor Sharp’s classroom and speak with him to learn Diffindo.

How To Brew Invisibility And Thunderbrew Potions

Brewing potions must be done on a Potion Station found in either Professor Sharp’s classroom or the Room of Requirement if players have unlocked it in Hogwarts Legacy. To get the recipes, head to J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade. There, players will find the Invisibility and Thunderbrew potions’ recipes, albeit a bit pricier than the actual potion. Brewing them requires a couple of common ingredients:
