Whether it be a building destroyed by a rampaging troll or an ancient lift that has simply fallen into disrepair, Hogwarts Legacy players are bound to come across broken things from time to time. When this happens, the Reparo spell is perfect for fixing things up, a task that is often needed to complete quests or continue exploration of certain areas within the game. Learning Reparo is fairly easy, but players will need to progress through Hogwarts Legacy's story enough to unlock a specific Assignment before they can add this spell to their repertoire.
Hogwarts Legacy players can learn new spells in a number of ways. A few spells are learned simply by attending classes at Hogwarts, and others can be taught to the player by their friends like Sebastian. Most spells, however, are learned by completing additional assignments given to the player by various professors at Hogwarts. These are often tied to story progression, so many of them are mandatory.
Completing Professor Ronen's Assignment
To learn Reparo, players must first attend both Defence Against the Dark Arts class and Charms Class on their first day at Hogwarts. Speak to Professor Weasley after this and players will be told to find Professor Ronen and complete his assignment before heading to Hogsmeade to pick up supplies they lost in the dragon attack. Professor Ronen's assignment is easy, as players simply need to use Accio to collect two Field Guide pages that are flying out of reach. The first page is near a broken statue in the Transfiguration Courtyard, and the other page is nearby in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Tower.
Learning Reparo
After collecting both pages, head back to Professor Ronen and he will teach the player Reparo. Players must first complete the short minigame (just like the ones they did for learning Accio and Levioso) and then the spell will be theirs to use for the rest of the game. Set it to any of the open spaces on the spell set and players will then be able to repair broken objects as they see fit.
How to Use Reparo
Reparo is simple to use, but it has some restrictions that fans may find annoying. Only broken objects that glow with a white outline when the player targets them can be fixed with Reparo, meaning there are some things that players may feel should be fixable that aren't (like the armor that gets destroyed by the other suit of armor in Hogwarts). Reparo is used often as part of quests and exploration, but does have some application in combat. Certain items that can be thrown with Ancient Magic can be fixed with Reparo and then thrown again, although this application rarely comes into play.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are scheduled to release on April 4; the Nintendo Switch version is arriving on July 25, 2023.
