What Does the Thunderbrew Potion Do?
After taking a swig of the Thunderbrew Potion, players will immediately see thunderstorms surrounding them, which will stun and cause damage to nearby enemies for a total of 30 seconds. It may not seem like a long time, but it can prove to be super helpful for crowd control. Of course, to drink potions during combat, players need to hold L1 and equip the potion --then press L1 to use it.
Where's the Thunderbrew Potion Recipe?
The recipe for Thunderbrew can be purchased for 1200 Galleons at J. Pippin's Potions apothecary in the village of Hogsmeade. Players will get to travel here with a classmate as part of the main story.
Players that don't have enough cash for the recipe should try and sell any old Gear that isn't up-to-par in its stats. Of course, players should also use Revelio to locate treasures over the map --it's easy to find cash lying around in stores and other areas.
How to Make Thunderbrew Potion
For players that have yet to unlock the Room of Requirement to use their own potions station, they will need to head to the Potions classroom for now.
The recipe calls for: 1 Leech Juice, 1 Shrivelfig Fruit, and 1 Stench of the Dead:
- Leech Juice can be found as interactable items on any waterfront.
- Shrivelfig Fruit can be purchased from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade.
- And Stench of the Dead can be purchased from J. Pippin's Potions, the same place where the potion recipe is obtained.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It launches on PS4 and Xbox One on May 5 and the Switch version is coming later.
