There are a variety of Spellcrafts players can purchase and collect in Hogwarts Legacy, but one of the more useful ones is easily the Hopping Pot. This odd magical item is very useful for players that want to experiment more with the many potions Hogwarts students can brew but don't want to spend too much time gathering ingredients and working all day over a Potions Station. The Hopping Pot recipe becomes available very early on in the game, but players will need to wait until they unlock the Room of Requirement to use it and start getting free potions.

Spellcrafts in Hogwarts Legacy are a little bit like crafting recipes. Once purchased or found, they grant the player the ability to conjure up that item inside their Room of Requirement. Many of these are completely decorative, but some items, like the Hopping Pot, provide functional bonuses to the player.

Getting the Hopping Pot Spellcraft

The only way to obtain the Spellcraft for the Hopping Pot is to purchase it from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade. Players go to Hogsmeade on their first day in Hogwarts, so it shouldn't take long to gain access to the shop.

Once there, the Hopping Pot Spellcraft can be purchased for a hefty 3000 Galleons. This may seem like a lot, but there are some tricks players can use to make money fast in Hogwarts Legacy.

Unlocking the Room of Requirement

Having the Hopping Pot Spellcraft doesn't do much for players if they have nowhere to put it. Conjuring Spellcrafts can only happen within the Room of Requirement, so players will need to get there first.

Continue progressing through the story until their main quest becomes "Complete the First Keeper Trial." This is right after players finish exploring Jackdaw's Tomb and tell Professor Fig about the Map Chamber. As part of this chapter, a quest called "The Room of Requirement" will become available via Professor Weasley's owl. Completing this unlocks the Room of Requirement for Hogwarts Legacy players.

Getting a Hopping Pot and What it Does

With the Hopping Pot Spellcraft purchased and the Room of Requirement unlocked, players simply need to use the Conjuring Spell they learned from Professor Weasley to summon Hopping Pots. Each Hopping Pot costs 30 Moonstones, and players are limited to a total of three Hopping Pots at any given time.

When placed in the Room of Requirement, a Hopping Pot will produce a random potion (excluding Felix Felicis) every 12 minutes. Just approach and press the interact button to claim the potion, and then the Hopping Pot will get started on the next one automatically.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are currently in development.
