The trials are some sort of small challenges that test players’ wit in solving small puzzles to revive Merlin’s old mechanics. Players will discover this piece of information once they meet a researcher named Nora Treadwell near Lower Hogsfield.
Fortunately, there are numerous methods players can follow to gather some Mallowsweet in Hogwarts Legacy. However, the most convenient method is a bit expensive and can only work if players unlock the Room of Requirement.
How To Get More Mallowsweet In Hogwarts Legacy
To get more Mallowsweet in Hogwarts Legacy, players can purchase the herb for 100 Galleons from multiple vendors in the world, including the ones in Hogsmeade, or buy Mallowsweet seeds and plant them in the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy.
Upon encountering researcher Nora Treadwell who’s studying Merlin Trials near Lower Hogsfield, she revealed that Mallowsweet seems to be connected to the Merlin Trials scattered around the world. Thus, she tries to prove her point by giving players five Mallowsweets and tells them to sprinkle some over the mechanic to unlock it. After solving the puzzle by lighting the brazier on fire using Incendio, the Merlin Trials side quest begins in Hogwarts Legacy, and the quest icon starts to appear on the discovered parts of the map.
How To Plant Mallowsweet In Hogwarts Legacy
By planting Mallowsweet seeds, players can get an infinite amount of the herb for every Merlin Trial. To start off, unlocking Hogsmeade is a crucial step toward planting the Mallowsweet. The Room of Requirement will help players immensely as it allows them to create their own Potting Tables in Hogwarts Legacy. Since the room becomes available after completing a good chunk of the main quests, it is possible to plant the Mallowsweet in the Herbology Classroom’s Pot temporarily and wait for the Room of Requirement quest to trigger.
To get the Mallowsweet herb in Hogwarts Legacy, head to The Magic Neep shop in Hogsmeade to purchase Mallowsweet seeds for 200 Galleons. After that, return to the Room of Requirement using Floo Flame or to the Herbology Classroom to plant the seeds.
The herb is considered small but can be planted in all three Pots sizes. As for how much it takes to mature, the herb requires 10 minutes to fully grow in Hogwarts Legacy and one plant yields five Mallowsweets. If by any chance players require more Mallowsweet, it’s possible to purchase a Fertilizer from The Magic Neep for 300 Galleons, which increases the amount of Harvested plants by one.
Sadly, it’s a bit impractical since the Fertilizer is a one-use only. A simple solution is to buy a Dung Composter so that players can make their own Fertilizer without paying 300 Galleons each time.
