Although players may be able to get a small supply of Venomous Tentacula for free in the Greenhouses in Hogwarts Castle, to begin with, the quickest and easiest way to get Venomous Tentacula is to buy it from Dogweed and Deathcap.

Players can buy a fully grown plant for 600 Gold Galleons. Alternatively, they can buy Venomous Tentacula seeds for 1,050 Gold Galleons. To increase the plant's yield, it's also worth considering buying fertilizer for 300 Gold Galleons from other vendors, like The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade.

However, before players rush off to buy it, they should be aware that it's only possible to grow Venomous Tentacula in large pots in the Room of Requirement, so players must first purchase and conjure a potting table with large pots to start growing it.

Using Venomous Tentacular in combat with a Dark Mongrel in Hogwarts Legacy

Venomous Tentacula is a plant used in combat, and it's handy when fighting groups of enemies, acting a bit like a turret that shoots acid at nearby enemies. To use Venomous Tentacula in battle, players only need to select it from the item wheel and deploy it during combat.

When using an Xbox controller, hold the LB button to open the wheel, use the right stick to select the plant, and then press LB again while fighting to deploy the Venomous Tentacula where players choose.

Locating and using Venomous Tentacula is also a pre-requisite to getting the Wingardium Leviosa spell along with Mandrake as part of Professor Garlick's Assignment 1 side quest. To complete it, players can either buy and use the plants on enemies outright or grow them in the Room of Requirement before searching the World Map for any enemies to throw the plants at.

Players can even come across a giant Venomous Tentacula in the Venomous Valour side quest, and the namesake plant also features in the Venomous Revenge side quest.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are currently in development.
