In the journey to complete Hogwarts Legacy, players will need to earn 46 different achievements/trophies. From completing story and relationship quests to tracking down every last collection item the game has to offer, this game promises to be quite a task to complete.
This Hogwarts Legacy Guide will provide information on every trophy in the game, along with providing strategies, suggestions, and links to quest guides and other resources that can assist in completing them. Since there are trophies for the completion of each main quest and relationship quest, along with achievements for various other sidequests and collectibles, players will need to play through the game until reaching the Map Chamber at least four times in order to complete everything.
Step 1: Story Quest Trophies, Relationship Quests, and Ancient Magic
The following Trophies are obtained by completing the main story, and thus players wanting to achieve every trophy will want to start with these. (How to achieve them is in brackets here)
- The Sort Who Makes an Entrance (Complete the Intro and Pick a House)
- First Class Student (Attend a Class on the First Day)
- Troll with the Punches (Finish the First Day)
- The Toast of the Town (As a Slytherin, Find the Map Chamber)
- The Auror's Apprentice (As a Hufflepuff, Find the Map Chamber)
- The Gryffindor in the Graveyard (As a Gryffindor, Find the Map Chamber)
- The Wise Owl (As a Ravenclaw, Find the Map Chamber)
- That's a Keeper (Finish Percival Rackham's Trial and return to the Map Chamber)
- The Defender of Dragons (Complete the Main Quest "Fire and Vice")
- The Hallowed Hero (Achieved During Niamh Fitzgerald's Trial)
- Grappling with a Graphorn (Tame the Graphorn in San Bakar's Trial)
- The One Who Mastered Memories (Finish San Bakar's Trial and see the final pensieve memory)
- The Hero of Hogwarts (Defeat Ranrok at the end of the Main Quest)
- The Seeker of Knowledge (Reach level 34 and head to the Great Hall to see the House Cup Ceremony)
Players should get all of these without much trouble by simply progressing through the game and following the Main Quest.
Along the way, players should try to use the Ancient Magic Finisher whenever they encounter a new enemy. This is needed to complete the Finishing Touches Trophy, which (despite the description saying "all") requires players to use Ancient Magic on 34 of the Game's enemy types. Only enemies that can be encountered multiple times and respawn are counted for this Trophy. Players will also complete the "A Keen Sense of Spell" trophy naturally during this.
Players will also need to complete the following Achievements, by completing the Relationship Quests that unlock as the Main Quest progresses further.
- The Avenging Gazelle (Complete Natsai Onai's Relationship Questline, ending with "Harlow's Last Stand")
- Beast Friends (Complete Poppy Sweeting's Relationship Questline, ending with "Poppy Blooms")
- A Sallow Grave (Complete Sebastian Sallow's Relationship Questline, ending with "In the Shadow of Friendship")
While Seeker of Knowledge is the last Trophy connected to the main story, it requires players to reach level 34, so it might be worth completing the main story up until the House Cup, and then completing some of the other steps to this guide to amass the needed experience to reach level 34 and view the Ceremony.
Step 2: Gearing Up
After beating Ranrok, players will want to gear up and make sure they have all the tools needed for completing the other trophies.
This means players will want to complete all the teacher's assignments and the sidequest "The Man Behind the Moons". This will ensure players have access to all the spells in the game, including the strongest version of Alohomora, allowing access to all areas and providing the tools to complete all the game's puzzles. This will also provide players with the "Demiguise Dread" and "The Spell Master" trophies.
With all these spells collected, players will also want to purchase all the potion recipes and plant seeds, and take the time to grow and brew one of each for the "Going Through the Potions" and "Put Down Roots" achievements.
Potions:
- How to Get Wiggenweld Potions
- How to Get Thunderbrew Potions
- How to Get Edurus Potions
- How to Get Invisibility Potions

- How to Get Focus Potions
Plants:
- How to Get Mallowsweet
- How to Get Mandrakes
- How to Get Venomous Tentacula
- How to Get Fluxweed Stem
- Where to Find Dittany Leaves
Felix Felicis Potion is not needed for the potions achievement, since the recipe can only be acquired by preordering the game on PlayStation.
Players should also complete all the Sidequests offered by Deek in the Room of Requirement, which will allow players to unlock all the Beast Habitats in the Room and acquire a Phoenix, completing the "Rising from the Ashes" achievement in the process.
Players will also want to take this opportunity to upgrade their equipment at the loom, aiming to upgrade a piece of gear three times and completing the trophies "Loom for Improvement" and "Third Time's a Charm." This is also an excellent time to earn "A Talent for Spending" if players have somehow avoided spending any Talent Points up until now.
Step 3: Sidequesting for Fun and Profit (The Good Samaritan Trophy)
Now that players have all the necessary gear, it's time to set off and explore the world some more. Players will want to buy a broom if they haven't already since this unlocks the quest chain to unlock Broom Upgrades and Imelda's Broom Races, which need to be completed for "Flight the Good Flight."
After nabbing a broom and all the broom upgrades, players should trek across the world map and unlock all the Floo Flames, allowing easy access to any part of the game world at any time. This grants the trophy "Floo Around the World" and will also come in handy when taking on Sidequests.
Speaking of Sidequests, they're visible on the map and can be found all over the world. They tend to start in Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, or one of the Hamlets, so players should head to each of those, in turn, to pick up and complete sidequests. Since the main story is cleared, all Sidequests should be accessible now, so players just need to go from one area to the next and complete all the sidequests in the area before moving on.
While visiting each area, players can also take the opportunity to nab all the Field Guide Pages in each area, using Revelio to uncover them (the revelio mastery talent can make this easier, and nearby pages will make a jingling noise if revelio is cast within range of them).
Field Guide Pages by Region:
- Astronomy Wing

Another task worth completing while traveling from area to area is rescuing magical beasts. Uncover the various points of interest in each area and stop at their Dens and nests to rescue them for the Room of Requirement. Players will need a male and female of each species to breed in order to complete "The Nature of the Beast", which tasks players with breeding each type of beast.

Players can also scour each area for Vaults while doing this, which provide an assortment of useful loot and sometimes contain collection chests. Players will need to open all the collection chests to complete their collections and get the "Collector's Edition" trophy.

Along the way, players should also complete Merlin Trials whenever they show up, solving the puzzle at each to progress the Merlin Trial challenge and eventually complete "Merlin's Beard!" by finishing them all.

Players will unlock the "Coasting along" Achievement during the main story by visiting the Poidsear Coast, and will likely uncover any Cairn Dungeons they haven't already found while traveling the world during this step, progressing "The Intrepid Explorer" trophy.
Players will also complete "Followed the Butterflies" and "Challenge Accepted" during this step since the former is obtained when completing a sidequest obtained in Hogsmeade and the latter is earned for completing all tiers of a challenge, such as the Merlin Trial challenge. "Rise to the Challenges" is earned by defeating enemies in every battle arena, so players exploring each area should spend a little time at each battle arena to clear them and earn this trophy too.
Step 4: Final Steps
Now that the more complicated steps are finished, there are just a few final details to clear up. Players will need to head for a field of cows and flip 10 cows using Flipendo to get the "Spilled Milk" trophy. Head up to the Headmaster's Study to nab "Room with a View", hit up an arena and chain together 100 attacks to earn "Raising Expectations" if it hasn't been earned by accident by this point, and complete some more challenges to level up to 40 if the level cap hasn't been reached yet. (Earning "A Forte for Achievement" as a result, and granting the final talent point that must be spent for "Savvy Spender")
While at a combat arena dealing with the "Raising Expectations" achievement, players should also get 10 enemies together and use a Mandrake to earn "The Root of the Problem." Players might also need to head for a Bandit Camp or three and sneak around petrifying foes to earn "The Ends Petrify the Means" if they weren't doing much stealth.
With that, all the Achievements are earned, and Playstation players will also receive the Platinum Trophy "Trophy Triumph."
Hogwarts Legacy is available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and coming soon to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
