Field guide pages are one of Hogwarts Legacy's many collectibles and are a fun way to explore and learn more about the game's vast open world and lore. There are 150 Revelio field guide pages to collect alone, not including field guide pages that fly, those revealed through moth frame puzzles in places like secret room locations, and by casting fire spells on dragon braziers like Incendio, for instance.
The South Sea Bog in Hogwarts Legacy is an interconnected maze of marshland and pathways with many secrets and surprises to discover. As one of the smallest map regions in the Highlands, the South Sea Bog only has one field guide page to locate. However, it's also worth visiting this mysterious and murky region for its head-scratching, randomized nearby maze puzzle. Additionally, other worthwhile locations and challenges nearby include several Treasure Vaults, a Merlin Trial, and an Infamous Foe by the border with Hogwarts Valley.
South Sea Bog Field Guide Page Location
To get to the field guide page in the South Sea Bog, it's quickest to fast-travel by Floo Flame to the Nothern South Sea Bog Floo Flame. Head south across the wetland river areas until reaching near the center of the winding marshland to the field guide location marker on the map.
To the right of the Dugbog Lair, there's a half-sunken abandoned house. Use Revelio by the house entrance to reveal the Abandoned Bothy field guide page. This page tells players it was a shelter traveling witches and wizards, but the land and Dugbogs reclaimed it. Watch out for aggressive Dugbogs in the area, as they can sometimes be challenging to defeat, especially in large packs.
The Abandoned Bothy is one of many abandoned buildings players come across in Hogwarts Legacy, such as The Old Fool Abandoned building in Hogsmeade. Although with so much fast travel in the game, it's somewhat surprising that any witch or wizard might need a rest from traveling, except if maybe sweeping the vast open lands on one of Hogwarts Legacy's best brooms or mounts.
South Sea Bog Blackwood Maze Puzzle Location
While collecting the South Sea Bog field guide page, it's also worth checking out the nearby hedge maze puzzle called the Blackwood Maze that spawns east of Abandoned Bothy.
Look for the hedge archway and collect A Horticultural History Of The Blackwood Maze, Part One. The pages explore the history of 15th-century Dark Wizard Eunon Blackwood's connection to Artemisia Black, adding to the Black Family lore in the game, such as Nigellus Black's connection to Harry Potter.
The Blackwood Mazes' cramped pathways may remind players of the maze in The Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and they are one of Hogwarts Legacy's puzzles. The Blackwood Maze puzzles are said to disappear and are random in design, so are best solved as soon as discovered.
To solve the Blackwood Maze, head inside the arch to activate the puzzle and cast Revelio to help locate the chest inside, with rewards including Legendary Items for players to decipher in the Room of Requirement. As soon as players reach the chest, the maze mysteriously vanishes.
