Similar to Clagmar Coast, Cragcroftshire contains five Merlin Trials that are scattered around the region. Each Trial represents a puzzle that must be solved by either interacting with the puzzle’s mechanism or casting a specific spell to solve it. This means that players might not be able to solve everything at the beginning since some spells are not accessible until later.

Cragcroftshire’s Merlin Trials are a bit far away from each other. Thus, players might need to summon a Broom or any mount in Hogwarts Legacy to reach the other Trials faster.

To solve all Merlin Trials available in the Cragcroftshire Region in Hogwarts Legacy, protagonists need to plant or buy Mallowsweet as activating each Trial requires one Mallowsweet Leaf. There are five Trials in this area:

  1. Brazier Puzzle
  2. Firefly Puzzle
  3. Stone Pillar Puzzle
  4. Orbs Pillar Puzzle
  5. Platform Bridge Puzzle

Head to Cragcroft Floo Flame and travel north to find the Trial inside the hamlet. All three braziers pillars need to be lit using Confringo before touching the ground. The first one is near the Merlin altar and can be detected using Revelio. Light it and keep going south to find the other two along the way.

Merlin Trial #2 - Firefly Puzzle

To solve it, players need to find fireflies and guide them back to any Moonstone pillar in Hogwarts Legacy using Lumos.

  • Two swarms are right next to the Merlin altar inside the ruined building.
  • The third swarm is south, next to a wooden carriage.

Merlin Trial #3 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

The third Merlin Trial is quite far from the second one, so it’s better to use a Broom or a flying mount in Hogwarts Legacy to reach it. Keep going west until the Trial appears, but do note that players might need to take a detour in some places as there’s an unmountable area along the way.

Once players arrive, defeat the enemies before activating the Merlin Trial. To solve it, cast Confringo and destroy the five pillars. The pillars’ location can be seen when using Revelio.

  • One can be found northeast, behind a wooden barricade.
  • Turn left to find one perched on a small hill.
  • One is east, next to the entrance.
  • One is west, on top of a hill.
  • The final one is southeast, outside the walls of the ruin.

Merlin Trial #4 - Orbs Pillar Puzzle

Fly southeast from the previous Merlin Trial to get to the final one in Cragcroftshire. This Trial is quite simple as players only need to jump onto the platforms without skipping one or falling in the waters. If by any chance players fail to do it, the Trial will restart from the beginning.
