Hogwarts Legacy follows a young student during their fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Before arriving at the castle, Professor Fig informs the new Hogwarts attendee that they will need to focus on their studies if they hope to catch up with their fifth-year peers, but it quickly becomes clear that the OWLs are the least of their worries.

The world of Hogwarts Legacy is chock-full of secrets that can only be unlocked if the player is willing to explore. Until the player has progressed forward in the story, several areas in Hogwarts will be locked, but it is possible to enter them with the appropriate preparations. The Headmaster's Office is an example of this restriction that players will need to gain access to it if they hope to obtain the Room with a View trophy or achievement.

Unlocking The Headmaster's Study

Upon reaching Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the player will likely encounter several locked doors. Before they can unearth the secrets that reside behind them, however, they must first progress through the story until they unlock Alohomora, the unlocking charm.

Professor Gladwin Moon in Hogwarts Legacy

To acquire the means of casting Alohomora, the player must complete The Caretaker's Lunar Lament, a quest they will encounter while playing through the main story of Hogwarts Legacy. Upon completing said quest, players will be able to open Level 1 locks, but they will need to open a Level 3 lock if they hope to enter the Headmaster's Office and obtain the Room with a View trophy.

Unlocking Alohomora 3 in Hogwarts Legacy

To obtain the means of opening Level 3 locks, The Man Behind the Moons side quest must first be completed. This side quest can be obtained by speaking with Caretaker Gladwin Moon, the same character from whom The Caretaker's Lunar Lament quest was received. Completing this quest requires the player to collect 25 Demiguise Moons (9 to unlock Level 2 locks and 16 to unlock Level 3 locks).

Finding The Headmaster's Study

With the ability to unlock Level 3 locks obtained, players can begin their search for the highest point in Hogwarts castle, the Headmaster's Office. Hogwarts a vast is location, so it can be easy to get lost if the player isn't paying attention to their surroundings, but the path to the Headmaster's Office is pretty straightforward.

Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogwarts Legacy

The easiest way to reach the Headmaster's Office is to use a broom and fly there. Players will gain access to flying by progressing through the main story and completing the first Flying Class. When the class ends, they can return to Hogsmeade and purchase a broom from the Spintwitch’s Sporting Needs store. To reach the Headmaster's Office, the player must fly to the top of the Grand Tower and land on the balcony, where they will find the locked door leading to their destination.

Trophy Room in Hogwarts Legacy

If players wish to travel to the Headmaster's Office on foot, they will need to climb to the very top of the Grand Staircase. Before they can reach the top, the Polyjuice Plot main story quest must first be completed. So long as the player can open Level 3 locks with Alohomora, they should continue into the Trophy Room.

Leaving the Trophy Room and turning left will then lead the player to a Level 2 locked door, behind which waits the door to the Headmaster's Office. Once both of these doors have been unlocked, the player can enter the Headmaster's Office, where the Room with a View trophy and achievement will be unlocked.
