Hogwarts Legacy players need to find a female Graphorn to 100% the game, and they may not know where to look. Hogwarts Legacy has 13 magical beasts that players can collect, and most of them can breed new offspring if players have at least one male and one female in their collection.

As players progress through Hogwarts Legacy's main story, they eventually unlock the Room of Requirement. Some time after gaining access to the Room of Requirement, house elf Deek teaches Hogwarts Legacy players how to catch, keep, and breed beasts. From that point forward, Hogwarts Legacy players are free to breed most of the beasts in the game, which is necessary for a couple of reasons. For one, doing so is required for anyone that wants to get 100% completion in Hogwarts Legacy, and for two, it helps players farm valuable resources mainly used while upgrading gear.

Most beasts in Hogwarts Legacy have multiple dens dotted around the world map, making it relatively easy for players to get male and female variants. There are some exceptions to this rule, like the Graphorn. Graphorns are unique beasts in Hogwarts Legacy. They only spawn in one location and every time players go to catch one, they have to be prepared for a boss fight.

Where to Find a Female Graphorn in Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy players don't need to worry about getting a female Graphorn until after they've completed the main quest San Bakar's Trial. This quest requires players to defeat a Graphorn in battle and then lead it to a certain area to open the path forward. For their efforts, players get the Graphorn as a mount, and they can also let it loose in the Room of Requirement's Vivarium as well.

Later, players can return to the location where they fought the first Graphorn to find another one hanging out there. Located in one of the most southeastern areas of the Hogwarts Legacy map, only one Graphorn spawns at the Graphorn Den at a time. It's possible players will face multiple male Graphorns before a female one spawns, and so they will likely have to defeat and capture many Graphorns until they finally manage to get the right one. To make the Graphorns respawn after capturing them, fast-travel to the nearest Floo Flame and then fly back to the Graphorn den. Female Graphorns look very similar to their male counterparts, though the horns are different. Players will be able to tell if the Graphorn is male or female based on the gender symbol that appears by their name when locking on to them.

The Graphorn fights in Hogwarts Legacy can be a challenge, so players should make sure they have plenty of Wiggenweld Potion handy and should have their best offensive spells equipped. Anyone hoping to cheese the fight using Avada Kedavra will be out of luck, as it's not possible to cast that particular spell on the Graphorns.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions releasing April 4 and a Switch release dropping July 25.
