Fwoopers are one of the more rare Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy, but that won't stop avid players from rescuing them and setting them free within the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement. Before any Magical Beast rescuing can happen, players must complete "The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom," a main quest given to them by Deek that teaches players all about rescuing and caring for Magical Beasts. Fwoopers are majestic birds that will both look amazing as they soar overhead in the Vivarium and provide players with Fwooper Feathers to upgrade their equipment with. No more stealing Fwooper Feathers from Professor Sharp.

The Fwooper is described as a "colorful bird that has a song known to drive people mad," but this last part doesn't come into play in Hogwarts Legacy. While they may require silencing charms and licenses to be kept as pets canonically in the Wizarding World, players can keep and care for Fwoopers with no problems here.

Where to Find Fwooper Dens

To find any den, simply comb the world map for a symbol that looks like a Beast's paw and hover over it to find what kind of Magical Beast lives there. There are only four Fwooper locations, and none of them are particularly close to Hogwarts.

One Fwooper can be found in a Poacher Camp cage directly south of Hogwarts in Hogwarts Valley on the eastern side of the mountain separating that area from the Feldcroft Region. The other dens can be found in the Feldcroft Region, the northeastern side of the Poidsear Coast, and near Cragcroftshire.

Rescuing Fwoopers and Getting Fwooper Feathers

Fwoopers are among the more challenging Magical Beasts to rescue because they both fly and require four button presses during the rescue sequence. As with other beasts, Levioso and Arresto Momentum make this task much easier, as they will keep the beast still, so it doesn't fly out of range. Players can also rescue a shiny Fwooper, denoted by the star next to the gender marker, which are light pink in color. Caring for a Fwooper in the Vivarium rewards players with three Fwooper Feathers.

Fwoopers can be sold at Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade for 120 Galleons each. They can also be released into the wild, but this doesn't reward players with any money or Fwooper Feathers. Their favorite toy from the Toy Chest Spellcraft in the Vivarium is the Quaffle, the same as other flying beasts like Hogwarts Legacy's Phoenix and Jobberknolls.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are scheduled to release on April 4, and the Nintendo Switch version arrives on July 25, 2023.
