Enemies that Drop Potion Ingredients

Dugbog

Dugbogs are hostile magical beasts that strongly resemble toads, attacking with charging headbutts and their long tongues. They can tank a lot of damage in a fight unless players make good use of Levioso and Diffindo to exploit their biggest weakness.

Players can find Dugbogs in most bodies of shallow water. Dugbog tongues are used in the recipe for Focus Potions.

Dugbogs come in three main varieties, these being: Great Spined, Cottongrass, and Stoneback. An Infamous Foe variant called Rampant also exists. They all behave similarly and have the same item drops. The map above shows the location of an easily accessible Dugbog Den in the South Hogwarts Region, which can be found by heading south along the river from the Lower Hogsfield Hamlet.

Found throughout the game's many caves and at spider lairs found all over the map, Spiders are worth fighting to acquire their fangs. Spider Fangs are used in the Maxima Potion recipe, making them invaluable to potion makers. The Map below shows a fairly easily reached lair near Forbidden Forest.

Other Enemy Types

Ashwinders & Poachers

The Ashwinders can be found at various camps throughout the game world, along with appearing regularly as enemies in the main story. They make use of spells much like the player does, and can defend themselves with shields that require players to use the right category of spell to break them. Poachers are similar to Ashwinders, sharing many of the same enemy types and movesets. Stronger Ashwinder and Poacher variants use unblockable spells like Petrificus Totalus, which must be dodged instead of blocked, or charge up powerful lightning and firestorm spells.

Additionally, Poacher Animagi can sometimes be encountered, which are capable of transforming into dark mongrels and attacking with pouncing and charging attacks. When they are defeated while transformed they revert to human form with the same amount of health they had before changing, but their transformation can be ended instantly by using the Transformation spell on them. Poachers and Ashwinders can be found at Bandit Camps like the one on the map above, in the South Hogwarts Region.

With a variety of assassins, commanders, and marksmen that utilize goblin magic alongside melee and ranged weaponry, they can provide quite a challenge if players don't dodge and block as appropriate for the attack.

There's a Loyalist Camp in a narrow pass that connects the South Hogwarts Region to the Feldcroft Region, which can be reached easily as soon as players are able to explore outside the castle, as shown on the map above.
