Defeating Infamous Foes is one of Hogwarts Legacy's many combat challenges, one of many additional activities to complete in the vast open-world game. Players can expect many of the Infamous Foes in Hogwarts Legacy to be challenging, with some more difficult than others and several being well hidden across the map or accessible behind side quests.
In many ways, Hogwarts Legacy is a completionist's dream with so many things to complete around and beyond the main story. Location and defeating Infamous Foes may be best attempted as players' ranking increases and they get to the end of the game, as many are tough to conquer. There are 21 Infamous Foes in total, with most marked on the map through a skull icon through the map counter for players to discover in the world as they fly or go near them. Other Infamous Foes are accessible through side quests and won't necessarily display on the world map, but using Revelio can sometimes help players track them all down.
Northern Infamous Foe Locations In Hogwarts Legacy
The quickest way to reach and battle most Infamous Foes in Hogwarts Legacy is to fast-travel by Floo Flame, choosing the nearest one to their location marked on the map. There are 8 Infamous Foes located in the northern and South Hogwarts regions of Hogwarts Legacy, with 6 located in Hogsmeade Valley alone.
Rampant Dugbog - Hogsmeade Valley
The Rampant Dugbog is located by the winding river directly south of the East North Ford Bog Floo Flame, at the base of a waterfall. The Rampant Dugbog isn't any more difficult than standard Dugbog enemies. However, it sits by a group of around 5 Cottongrass Dugbogs, so players need to dodge roll or use Protego to defend against their tongue-swiping attacks, which can be devastating.
Tempeste Thorne - Falberton Castle, Hogsmeade Valley
The Tempeste Thorne Infamous Foe is located inside the castle to the east of Falberton Castle Floo Flame. Head inside Falberton Castle to battle Tempeste Thorne, an evil and cruel poacher who wears red. The battle involves defeating her and her group of poachers, and the battle shouldn't prove difficult providing players have some of the best spells and Wiggenweld Potion to heal as necessary.
Gwendolyn Zhou - Hogsmeade Valley
Players can find an Infamous Foe called Gwendolyn Zhou during the A Basis For Blackmail side quest with companion Natty inside the Ashwinder Hideout located by the Hogs Head in Hogsmeade.
Bardolph Barmont's Corpse - Upper Hogsfield, Hogsmeade Valley
To find the Bardolph Barmont's Corpse Infamous Foe, players need to activate the Brother's Keeper side quest in Upper Hogsfield.
The Riparian Troll - Hogwarts Valley
The Riparian Troll is an Infamous Foe located in the Hogwarts Valley region. Players can find this troll by completing the 'Beeting' A Curse side quest, where players can locate the troll inside the Dale family tomb near Brocburrow after speaking with Samantha Dale in the Greenhouses at Hogwarts Castle.
Alexandra's Troll - Hogwarts Valley
Alexandra's Troll is an Infamous Foe that players encounter during the Troll Control side quest, which players can begin in the hamlet of Brocburrow. Use the Brocburrow Floo Flame to fast travel to the area quickly and locate and speak to Alexandra Rickett to begin the quest.
The Absconder - Forbidden Forest
The Absconder Infamous Foe is a giant spider Infamous Foe that players can locate by completing the Absconder Encounter side quest, which takes players to the northeast area of the Forbidden Forest, to the south of the North Ford Bog Entrance Floo Flame.
Pergit - North Hogwarts Region
Pergit is the only Infamous Foe located in the North Hogwarts region in the Korrow Ruins and is discoverable through the Tale of Rowland Oakes side quest. Players can begin this quest by speaking to Adelaide Oakes in the Transfiguration Courtyard located in the Astronomy Wing at Hogwarts Castle.

There are 7 Infamous Foes located in the central regions of Hogwarts Legacy, including Hogwarts Valley, South Hogwarts Region, the Feldcroft Region, and the Coastal Cavern, which players can find as below:
The Grim And The White Wolf - Hogwarts Valley
There are 5 Infamous Foes located in the Hogwarts Valley region, and 2 are discoverable in the same location inside a small cave by the fast western cliff to the west of the Keenbridge Floo Flame. To find the Grim, head to the end of the river and across the small arched bridge to find a small cave entrance. It's best to lure the Grim outside and defeat the White Wolf inside the cave, which is also infested with Inferi.
Quagmire Troll - Hogwarts Valley
The Quagmire Troll Infamous Foe is located to the northeast of the Northern South Sea Bog Floo Flame near the riverbank area. Unless players have devastating spells like Avada Kedavra, the Quagmire Troll is a difficult opponent, especially when surrounding Dugbogs join in the battle.
The Insatiable Spider - South Hogwarts Region
The Insatiable Spider is an Infamous Foe found during the Tangled Web side quest. The spider is located towards the end of the sidequest, which takes players from Hogsmeade to Aranshire in the South Hogwarts region.
Catrin Haggarty - Feldcroft Region
There are 2 Infamous Foes located in the Feldcroft Region. One is located inside a tent inside the Small Bandit Camp in the northeast Feldcroft Region, to the north of the North Feldcroft Floo Flame. This Infamous Foe only appears when players have progressed through The Lost Child side quest.
Belgruff the Bludgeoner - Feldcroft Region
Belgruff the Bludgeoner is a goblin Infamous Foe located in the Bandit Camp Castle to the northwest of the Feldcroft Floo Flame.
Ogbert The Odd - Coastal Cavern
Ogbert the Odd is a goblin Infamous Foe who guards the Coastal Cavern region that connects the southern map landscape. Use the nearby North Poidsear Coast Floo Flame to reach there and be prepared for a group goblin battle.

Iona Morgan - Poidsear Coast
There is 1 Infamous Foe located inside a ruined castle on the Poidsear Coast called Iona Morgan, a former Hogwarts student turned poacher. Iona is easily defeated using stealth and Ancient Magic attacks. Players can use the Poidsear Castle Floor Flame to reach there quickly.
Grodbick - Marunweem Lake
There is 1 Infamous Foe found on the Marunweem Lake called Grodbick, who players can battle during the Lodlok's Loyalty main quest or using the nearest Coastal Mine Floo Flame.
Ailsa Travers and Lord of the Manor - Manor Cape
There are 3 Infamous Foes located in the Manor Cape region. The location of 2 Infamous Foes Ailsa Travers and the Lord of the Manor are well-hidden to the northeast of the West Manor Cape Floo Flame, behind a door switch in the graveyard area overlooking the Manor grounds. Ignite the bowl in front of the grim-reaper-style statue and stand on the switch to enter a small arena containing the Foes.
Dunstan Trinity - Manor Cape
Use the West Manor Cape Floo Flame to locate Dustan Trinity, an Infamous Foe inside some heavily guarded ruins on the southeast coast of Manor Cape.
Silvanus Selwyn - Clagmar Coast
There is 1 Infamous Foe discoverable on the Clagmar Coast called Silvanus Selwyn, located in the Bandit Camp Castle ruins next to the Clagmar Castle Floo Flame.
Infamous Foe Challenge Rewards
Completing the Infamous Foes challenge rewards players with several masks to create an intimidating or mysterious look when changing outfit and appearance. Players get the Avenging Wolf Mask for defeating 3 Infamous Foes and must defeat 6 Foes to get the Avenging Owl Mask. Completing an additional 12 Infamous Foes awards players the Avenging Raven Mask.
